Melissa C. Guzy is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Arbor Ventures. Melissa is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong and the Singapore Venture Capital Associations and a former member of the advisory counsel to the Hong Kong SFC on Innovation. She serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Jackson Labs. Melissa’s expertise in Fintech has earned her recognition as a Top 100 Influencer in Fintech (NxBnk), AlwaysOn Fintech Power Player, as well as One of the Most Influential Women in Tech in Asia. Her current board seats include Paidy, TrueAccord, InCountry, Fundbox, Tabby, EverC and Planck Re.

Wei Hopeman is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Arbor Ventures. Prior to Arbor, Wei was the Managing Director and Head of Asia for Citi Ventures. She also co-founded Asia Pacific Land, a leading real estate investment firm in Asia. Wei is a current member of the board of directors at Booking Holdings and a founding member of the Internet Brokerage Committee, an advisory body to the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission. She has been recognized as a Top 100 Influencers in Fintech (NxBnk), AlwaysOn Fintech Power Player, as well as one of the 7 leaders changing the face of Fintech in Asia (E27) and one of the top 38 Fintech Influencers in Asia (FintechAsia). Her current board seats include Abra, Akulaku and Quottly.

Dan has represented Arbor in Japan since the early days of the firm. Dan is currently the Co-Founder and COO at C1X, a California-based full-cycle customer 1st party data company. Dan has also co-founded several leading technology startups in Asia and California as well as served as advisor to startups, large corporations and the government in Japan. Dan received his B.Eng., M.Eng. and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, where he was awarded the Presidential Award in 2010 and was the Graduate School Valedictorian in 2013. Dan is a member of the Japan Mensa Society and a second-degree black belt in Karate.

In his role as an Partner at Arbor Khaled works closely with the portfolio companies on strategy but also supports business development efforts. He is currently the Vice President and General Manager for InCountry (a current portfolio company), covering the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. He has over 15 years of deal making experience in Canada, the US and the Middle East closing debt and equity transactions in excess of $20 billion. Khaled received his BSc. in Robotics Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from Oxford University. Khaled is an avid collector of vintage Porsches.

Shu joined Arbor after three years at Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in Hong Kong. There, he worked on M&A, fundraising and IPO transactions for fintech and financial services companies, closing deals collectively worth over $10 billion. Shu graduated from LSE with a BSc in Economics, prior to which he spent two years serving in the Singapore Army. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and following a wide range of sports.

Prior to joining Arbor, Lawrence worked in private equity at JPB Partners and served as a Research Analyst at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where he analyzed economic and policy trends across Asian markets. He earned his MBA from Yale and studied Math and Economics at Rutgers University. In his spare time, he is an avid follower of the esports industry.

Before joining Arbor, Marwan spent three years as a software engineer at Sakneen, a leading Egyptian proptech company, where he built and tested distributed systems and platform infrastructure managing real estate inventory. He holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University, where he developed an interest in AI in healthcare as part of his work in the HCI lab. In his free time, Marwan enjoys cooking and reading.
