Melissa C. Guzy is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Arbor Ventures. Melissa is a member of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong and the Singapore Venture Capital Associations and a former member of the advisory counsel to the Hong Kong SFC on Innovation. She serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of Jackson Labs. Melissa’s expertise in Fintech has earned her recognition as a Top 100 Influencer in Fintech (NxBnk), AlwaysOn Fintech Power Player, as well as One of the Most Influential Women in Tech in Asia. Her current board seats include Paidy, TrueAccord, InCountry, Fundbox, Tabby, EverC and Planck Re.

Wei Hopeman is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Arbor Ventures. Prior to Arbor, Wei was the Managing Director and Head of Asia for Citi Ventures. She also co-founded Asia Pacific Land, a leading real estate investment firm in Asia. Wei is a current member of the board of directors at Booking Holdings and a founding member of the Internet Brokerage Committee, an advisory body to the Chinese Securities Regulatory Commission. She has been recognized as a Top 100 Influencers in Fintech (NxBnk), AlwaysOn Fintech Power Player, as well as one of the 7 leaders changing the face of Fintech in Asia (E27) and one of the top 38 Fintech Influencers in Asia (FintechAsia). Her current board seats include Abra, Akulaku and Quottly.

Matt Dill joins Arbor Ventures as a Partner for Fund III. Matt is a creative executive with a track record of developing and commercializing financial service offerings for both venture-funded start-ups and Fortune 100 companies. Before joining Arbor, Matt spearheaded the development of Visa’s Innovation and Strategic Partnerships group in 2010 and led the global unit responsible for Visa’s commercial partnerships and venture arm across Big Tech, Fintech and Crypto. Prior to Visa, Matt led Western Union’s digital ventures arm, and was a venture partner at eONEGlobal, an early stage venture fund set up by FDC, BCG and Goldman Sachs. Matt has lived with his family and worked in London, San Francisco and Singapore.

Dan has represented Arbor in Japan since the early days of the firm. Dan is currently the Co-Founder and COO at C1X, a California-based full-cycle customer 1st party data company. Dan has also co-founded several leading technology startups in Asia and California as well as served as advisor to startups, large corporations and the government in Japan. Dan received his B.Eng., M.Eng. and Ph.D. from the University of Tokyo, where he was awarded the Presidential Award in 2010 and was the Graduate School Valedictorian in 2013. Dan is a member of the Japan Mensa Society and a second-degree black belt in Karate.

Prior to joining Arbor, Stephanie worked as a Product Manager at Prenetics (a Hong Kong-based genetic testing start-up backed by Alibaba) where she led product strategy and development for large regional insurance clients while managing teams across Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Stephanie graduated with a B.Sc. in Biomechanical Engineering from Stanford University where she got her start in tech and the Silicon Valley startup scene. Born in Mexico, Stephanie is especially passionate about the impact Fintech can make in emerging markets. She also loves neuroscience and genetics.

In his role as an Operating Partner at Arbor Khaled works closely with the portfolio companies on strategy but also supports business development efforts. He is currently the Vice President and General Manager for InCountry (a current portfolio company), covering the Middle East, Africa and Turkey. He has over 15 years of deal making experience in Canada, the US and the Middle East closing debt and equity transactions in excess of $20 billion. Khaled received his BSc. in Robotics Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA from Oxford University. Khaled is an avid collector of vintage Porsches.

Will brings an entrepreneurial mindset previously founding a mobile payments platform in college that he ran for 4 years in DC and New York. He was identified by Tech-in-Asia as part of the rapid rise of Southeast Asia’s founder-VC mafia. At Arbor, Will specializes in insurance having spent 6 months living in Bermuda learning from reinsurers. Will has a BA in International Affairs from The George Washington University and studied at Fudan University in Shanghai. He has lived, studied, and worked in London, Washington DC, New York, Bermuda, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Shanghai.

Prior to joining Arbor, Estelle worked at Lombard Odier, a private bank, and Partners Group, a global private equity company, in Switzerland and Singapore, while also building her own venture portfolio since 2017. Estelle holds a B.Sc. in International Management and Chinese from SOAS in London and BNU in Beijing, an Executive Masters in Social Business and Entrepreneurship from LSE and an MBA from ESADE. She has lived in Zurich, Geneva, London, Paris, Barcelona, Beijing, Hong Kong and Singapore and is passionate about sports. “As venture investors, we have the opportunity to be primary drivers of growth by supporting companies that we believe have the potential to unlock global transformation."

Shu joined Arbor after three years at Goldman Sachs’ Investment Banking Division in Hong Kong. There, he worked on M&A, fundraising and IPO transactions for fintech companies and financial institutions across Asia. Shu graduated from LSE with a BSc in Economics, prior to which he spent two years serving in the Singapore Army. In his spare time, he enjoys playing and watching a range of sports, including but not limited to football, tennis and golf.

Greg brings years of accounting expertise most recently working as a Technical Accounting lead manager for T. Rowe Price. Greg was also a senior manager in PwC’s Audit practice serving clients in both the public mutual fund and venture capital fund space. Greg received both a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accounting Degree from James Madison University in Virginia. In his free time Greg can be found with his family hiking a local trail, boating, or skiing.

Prior to joining Arbor, Philip worked as an Associate in the Corporate practice of two large international law firms in Washington, D.C. where he advised high-growth companies and their investors on a range of transactional and general corporate matters. Philip received a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from The University of Virginia School of Law. He is admitted to the District of Columbia Bar. In his free time, Philip can be found enjoying the outdoors or travelling.

Marjorie has a deep understanding of accounting and compliance with a focus on internal supporting services. Prior to Arbor, she worked for Ernst & Young in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services practice as well as a global corporation listed on the NYSE, leading the company’s policy compliance projects and performance improvement programs. Marjorie received her Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Accountancy at the Hong Kong Baptist University. She loves to travel and enjoys getting active at the gym.
