On-demand platform for specialized mobility insurance VOOM has announced that it has raised $15 million in funding to help expand its usage-based insurance model to additional mobility verticals. Following the launch of its per-mile insurance product for motorcycles in August, it will be expanding it for light aircraft, leisure vehicles, and gig drivers. The funding round was co-led by JAL Ventures and UP.Partners, with the participation of F2 Venture Capital, Kaeden Venture Capital, Arbor Ventures, Verizon Ventures, and ICON Continuity Fund and brings the company’s total funding to $22 million.

tabby is awarded second place at the Fintech Middle East Hot Startups awards 2021. The Middle East BNPL startup raised US$50 million in equity funding this year, on top of another US$50 million in debt, picking up a valuation of US$300 million. It also launched a cash back rewards feature this year. tabby’s list of retail partners has some big names, including Adidas, IKEA, and SHEIN, as well as regional giants Chalhoub Group, Al Futtaim Group, and Landmark Group.

2C2P teams up with Vietnam’s Joint Stock Commercial Bank and Cambodia’s eMoney Payment Solutions to expand cross-border money transfers from Thailand to Vietnam and Cambodia.

The Montana university system is adopting course-sharing administrative software Quottly, to improve access to courses and address local workforce needs. The 16-institution system announced it would use the Quottly software, which is also used by other state systems, including Idaho’s — to help students taking classes from multiple colleges.
